Essex County Turtle Back Zoo to host Holiday Lights Spectacular

The Holiday Lights Spectacular at Turtle Back Zoo will open this year on Nov. 22. The event will feature light displays throughout the zoo grounds.
The spectacular will be open Nov. 22 through Nov. 24; Nov. 29 to Dec. 4; and, Dec. 6 through Dec. 31 from 5 to 9 p.m. each night. The zoo will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25.
The light displays “promise to transform the zoo into a winter wonderland.” In addition to the lights, there will be holiday-themed activities, costumed characters, and seasonal treats available for purchase.
Turtle Back Zoo, located at 560 Northfield Ave. in West Orange, is home to more than 200 species of animals from around the world. The zoo is open year-round and hosts various special events throughout the seasons.
Admission is free. Donations of nonperishable foods, unwrapped toys and new/gently-used coats will be kindly accepted. For more information, go to essexcountynj.org.
